A Mini Review: The Application of Eupatorium Plants as Potential Cosmetic Ingredients

The Eupatorium plant has been well used in medication and as a decorative plant. Some studies have reported that this herb biochemical compounds, such sesquiterpenes, phenolics, polysaccharides, pyrrolizidine alkaloids. Thus, it pharmacological effects, including antifungal, antibacterial, cytotoxic, antinociceptive properties, can be utilized for cosmetic purposes. However, only few published works summarized the active compounds application of plants agents. Therefore, article aims to review potential agent. are contained whole plant, stems, leaves, roots, aerial parts (flower, fruit, seeds). In terms applications, activities Eupathorium antioxidant, anti-tyrosinase, anti-melanin/melanogenesis, anti-acne, anti-inflammatory.
